Since the unit takes four batteries I was wondering if all four batteries are used constantly or are the functions of the unit split....two batteries maybe sending the signal and the other pair doing other tasks??
I was thinking along these lines because some day in the future when my batteries die on me and I don't have my back-ups (which are always in my hunt bag) could I switch the pairing of the batteries and get a few more swings out of the original four pack????.

If I am not mistaken...they are hooked up in series, so all 4 are in use at the same time drawing the same amount of power.

John is correct. When one is dead they all are dead. :goodnight:
Some of the detectors that use 2-9volt batteries run separate functions.
