Got a Buffalo today....

JOE in MD

I put on the small coil and headed out to the woods. A Brutally cold windy day, but I did manage a few goods finds. 1936 Buffalo, 1950 Wheatie, an old pocket Knife and some clads. Sometimes you just have to read the wrighting on the tree to find the old spots!! LOL Here a tree with 1951 carved in it( Silver days!).

Congrats on the buffalo. Man there hard to find here in Cali I've only found 1 so far with my dfx . They must be rare or something

Looks like a big beech tree? We have them up here in michigan, they are good to hunt around since generally somebody took a knife to them...any nearby likely looking picnic spots are good too..Nice work on the buff! You are in some old dirt..
Mud

I like those buffalo nickels. I've only found 2 and they were in pretty rough shape. Looked like someone carved a heart on that tree, too. Must have been in love. HH.

If you hit a 51-52 dig it more than likly a Buffalo,54-56 V nickel or war nickel. 52 most likly a Jefferson.53 a pull tab.
