Went to an area I've gone to for years. Slow goin, but always a chance to find a keeper now and then.

After a couple hours, I hadn't found much..... A wheatie, a few bullet shells and whatsits. Then I got a good signal
in the quarter range down 3 inches.
This area is pretty rocky so I was still thinking silver even though it was fairly shallow.
When I realized what it was, I put it back down and took this pic.

It's a Coronet head large cent. It's in great shape except that the date is worn. I do know it's
somewhere between 1816 and 1839.
I just used a toothpick to clean off the dirt.
