I had the hf 9 inch coil and was having problems with iron . I don't remember what program I created my custom programs for it from. Since the preset programs use different filters what happens if you use the wrong one for the hf coils? hence 3.2 or 2.0? I noticed in Garys video he said use preset nine for the elipitical is where he started. I might have been using the wrong preset to build my custom program for the hf coil hence the problems I was having. What do you guys think?

btw its the silencer filters that are different don't know if that makes a difference with the coils.

so the only filter difference from 3.2 and 4 are the silencer filters ?

good luck with the new coil, from what has been said deep is V2 and hot is V3.2 all the rest are V4 at least that's what was written on here.

The MAN that MAKES this machine hunts it WITH Discrimination and smiles when asked about zero discrim. Using the Deus with at least 6.5 Discrimination and not more than 10 will cost you nothing. Using Discrimination of at least 6.5 and an appropriate amount of Iron Volume will help you all day long put the targets we want here in the USA in your pouch. We are not looking for ceramic shards from ancient roman sites.

Neither am I looking for ceramics, I am looking for Roman coins and artefacts very often located between Iron.
The minus discrimination allows me to find the patches containing such finds.

did I miss something? I thought the question was about which program to make custom programs for????? How did we get on discrimination ?

can you tell me where you found that ?

I get that, but here in the USA we have 300 years of history at best and a LOT more trash then in the UK. No Tiny Roman coins.
I can only speak for USA hunting as I've only hunted the UK for about a month total. Most of which was spent with a ground reading of 90 all day long. When you use the Deus over here with zero discrim or less in mineralized ground and trash. What you get is a bunch of Deus users complaining about noisy machines. We don't have the great tiny relics and coins. Wish we did. All ground is different.

Yes Calabash we are off track.

To continue off the track.
I once asked the best trout fisherman I know what was the best lure for catching trout. His reply was the one you have confidence in. Whether or not you use 0 discrimination or 8 is up to each user and how he sets the machine for a particular site. Use what works for you and have a good time.

Hi Calabash,
I'm slightly confused by your question, however hope this helps..

I'm using both the HF 9" & the HF Elliptical Coil here in the U.K. with great results!

In bad iron invested areas, I've simply used program 6 (deep) as my platform,, then changed to "full tones" ,, discrimination anywhere between +1 & +5,,,,
Reactivity 3 ,,,,, silencer,, -1........ ( program 6 definitely gives more depth)

I've tried using a 2/3 tone program, but I found it hard to discriminate the iron !! ( as I never go above + 6 as my max discrimination level)

Hope this helps ?
Dave.

confused much :buds: its a cats dinner in here :bouncy:

forget about the silencer as I have no idea , but from one of Garys Vid's he said that the program "deep" is V2 and Program "hot" is V3.2 as in using those filters from those updates all other stock programs are using V4 filters so if wanting to use V2 or V3.2 while having V4 installed build off one of those 2 programs

and just for fun I set my disc at 70 in one of my custom programs :pulltab:
