Got A Question, About The Ace250!!!

To start with, I have really enjoyed reading all the posts about the Ace 250,there is no better place to get information on the 250 than right here on this forum.
For the past month and half I have been trying to decide on what detector to get for my wife and Granddaughter, something, user friendly,& turn on and go, that will actual find good targets that don't cost $700.00.
I got the Ace250 Saturday!! Big Problem!! my wife and granddaughter there not getting it!
It's Mine!
No just kidding,I used it for a few hours, and you guys were ever so right.

Now the question, is there any ground balancing, or bobbing the coil ?
I can't believe it is so user friendly, I have only tyred it in my test garden, and with the stock coil, I am very impressed. Thanks for all the Good information. HH, Bernie

The Ace series use a fixed ground balance. No bobbing required.

I don't know if there are any adjustments that can be made on the circuit board. Some machines have a potentiometer that can be adjusted to your local conditions, but they are probably best left alone if you don't know what you are doing.

There surely is some factory adjust, as the Ace doesnt use AutoTrack or any other niceties such as that. But it is probably best left alone. No one seems to have complained yet about it, that I know of.

One of the Ace's strong suits is its ease of use - no bobbing, no constant fiddling with knobs or menu's. Then, after you simply turn it on, it works! Charles Garret claims it was his goal to put computerized, One-Touch operation in a $200 detector. Looks like he did it.

Thanks Old Timer & David for the quick response on no ground balance for the 250.
Ill say it again, the Ace250 keeps me impressed, just the two day's I have it.
Thanks and HH, Bernie
