Got back into the silver today:smoke:

I spent about 41/2 hours at 3 cent land and the neighboring property. First, I started near were I found the 2 centers a few days ago. Wasn't having much luck, so I just kinda wandered back into woods hoping to get my coil onto a good signal I've missed in the past. Well, it took a couple hours, but I was surprised and happy when I started getting a good quarter signal. I was on the property that I have been detecting off and on for about 4-5 years.... and I had only found 1 quarter (standing liberty) during that time.

The signal sounded perfect and the detector said quarter at 6". My digger hit a big rock a couple inches down. I got my fingers around the side and pulled it outta the ground:biggrin: then I waved the dx1 where the rock had been and got a loud blast in my earphones. I looked down and could see part of the coin. A 1942 Walker Half.

This is the first half I've ever found here... and like I said before, I've only found one quarter there, too. I'm not complaining :nono:, but when I initially had a quarter read at 6" , I was dreaming of Seated or Bust because I've found some pretty old coins at this spot. Nothin wrong with an unexpected half, though.

Next good target I had was in the dime range, but was bouncin around ,shallow, and sounding too loud. I was pleasantly surprised to find a silver ring.
No on-site pic for this

I finished up the day with a nice 1929 mercury dime.
