Got my 250 today

Greetings All,
Received my Ace 250 today, all I can say is WOW! Compared to my 25 year old S-1, I am amazed. I thought I had cleared out an area of my backyard, well the Ace says no, there is a lot more junk here than that old dog could see. Even had the kids running it in less than 10 minutes, they are still having a little trouble with the de-tune concept. My neighbors daughter found another matchbox car in my back yard well a truck actually, that makes 3 so far, I wonder how many of these things are in my yard? The S-1 had found fifty one cents, the Ace found a penny... at least it is a 1964. Will be off to the woods tomorrow, old home site from the early days of the East Coast Railway, Henry Flagler days, I hit it lightly with the S-1 a few years ago, bet I find more tomorrow. We actually found more than is in the picture, it was too dark to take a picture with the cell phone when we were through. I feel very comfortable with this little machine, I had 4 days before it arrived to read and understand the words (and videos) on this and other sites, thank you one and all for the free training, have a great weekend!

Awesome!!!!

You have a bright future with your new rig. Here is a prediction. I see another Garrett detector in your future. Later this year. In the Fall. You can't get the Ace 250 out of the kids hands. You order a GTI (I'll leave which one so you'll be surprised) paying for it with the swag you find with your Ace 250. It will find even more stuff in your yard!

Good luck.

Chris

I was looking at the GTI 1350, the crumb snatchers might get a little attached to this dude, well at least as long as I keep digging the holes for them, OK, that ends tomorrow! They get to use the old S-1!

You are on the path now. You are going to be astounded at how things have advanced. That little Ace is more than that old S-1 of yours ever was. It is in a smaller, lighter package, takse only 4 AA batteries and costs at far less money by comparison. Prepare yourself... I hope your knees are in good shape.

I wonder how much the S-1's cost new, my Dad bought it and I dont have a clue but I know you are right, even if it only cost $200.00 in 1983 money that was like $1000.00+ today.

I have a 1350 as well as the 250. I find it is a pumped up version of the Ace. Much smoother and with many more features... and I am on record as saying that the GTP 1350 just may be the best GP detector available

You have to go to the GTI series before you get to the next level with the Garretts. Just keep at what you got for awhile and see if you and the kneeclutchers get on with it. If so, then pony up and get the 1350.
