I stayed real close to home and worked the dirt and a few totlots. Those totters are getting hit so hard by somebody other than me, seems the coins are out away from the equipment if at all. So....a guy just starts free styling open dirt sports fields, sidewalk edges and doorways...not very sporting or thinking effort involved, just sweeping random drops and staying at it. It was a great day weather wise, upper 50's and it seems the pings were loud and clear too, didn't ground balance at all, right dead on all day from chips to dirt to gravel....That one coin at the bottom is a 50c euro. The ring is a fake, but I got 171 coins for 14.42 including a 50d wheat..so that puts me to 9738 and $775.98 for the year. Even though yesterday was weak, I got 420 coins, $31.27 in three days/ 4 hunts. I was out today for 7hrs.

I have a school yard I wish you would come down and clean out for me. I had all good intentions today of digging every coin signal, but after what seemed like 100 zinc digs, I finally gave up and just went for the nickels and high tones with the Omega. In actuality, I dug 47 pennies and in random hunting, passed up twice that many. Another good hunt you had. If you were retired and another couple of days of good weather, you would have it sacked. You will make it, though. You are like the mailman. Rain, sleet, nothing will stop you. HH jim tn

Thanks guys. :buds: Just checked the forecast and it looks like the dirt wont be frozen for another 10 days or maybe more. I'm just gonna stay close to home and dink around and I should be able to fill out my ticket for the year. I saw lots of ladies with kids at some of the totlots yesterday, I didn't stop, just sort of observed. Made me feel like a coin vulture! I dont dig all zinc signals, just the ones that are sort of different or location strange or easy. I'll go after every nickle and any other signal sounding strange, some of those tend to be stacks or tight spills. A handful of mutidenom clad in a stack or tight spill can sound like junk or no target at all, just some weird chirp and scatter back signal sometimes, a quick invetigatory stab with the screwdriver to verify, and move on or harvest.

Hey Oky, a totlot is one of those kids playgrounds with equipment and all...you will hear a lot of strange words these detectorists use, that only another detectorists understands. I tried to PM you with this answer, but you gotta hang out here a little more until that is activated.
