Thank you for your great and friendly service, Mr. Bill. The detector was ordered on a Friday and arrived the following Thursday...very quick.HOw are the DD coils coming???
Mr. Foster the detector is built better than any detector I have owned. The audio is a stroke of genius and I think your machine will serve me very well. Mr Reg S, thank you for all the previous info you gave. I will be over to Rich Hill Nov 5-8 giving this GQSSv.2 a work-out...Do you have any sage advise for my trial run Nugget hunting? fred

Hi Fred,
Did you get a GQ set up to use DD coils and the dual filter? If so, do you have a DD coil?
I think you will find the DD will be much quieter in certain areas around Rich Hill, especially when working the flats near Octave. Up on Rich Hill, there are many places where the machine is very quiet even with a mono coil, but there are also places where the red clay will cause a fairly strong signal when using a mono.
It all depends upon just where you are at.
The key is to go slow and be patient. I think you will find your PI to be quite impressive.
I would recommend you practice with it as much as possible before going out to the gold producing areas. This way, you will have a better idea of what to expect. If you have never used a PI, they are quite different from a VLF in how they respond.
Drop me an email once you have used it a little.
BTW, there is a slim chance I might be down at Rich Hill about the same time you are. If not that weekend, then I may be down there the next week. All is still up in the air at this time. Usually, I am down there right after Thanksgiving. I might be down there at that time also. I just don't know right now.
Reg

They will be here shortly. Just spoke to Eric yesterday about them.
Mr. Bill

Thanks for the advice, Reg...I have had some experience with Minelab PI machines and nugget hunting...I expect to try some of the DD ML and CT coils over at Rich Hill...however I am inclined to think one of Mr. Foster's new DD coils would be the best choice...I have no way of testing his coils prior to buying though...We will be camped near Decision Corner if you are in the area...it would be great to meet you...if you care to disclose your plans after thanksgiving I would arrange to meet up with you...I can't make it the week after the one I will be at RH.
Hey Mr Bill,How Much for the little DD in the window???

Hi Fred,
Right now, I am planning on being down at Rich Hill around the weekend you will be there. I should know for sure later this week. I have a project at work of replacing a PLC used to control a nail packing machine and I need to get that done before I go on vacation. So, I guess I had better get started on the project.
BTW, I will be driving a white Ford SUV with Colorado plates. If all goes well, my dad will be down there at the same time and will be in a Silver SUV with Colorado Plates.
Are you planning on mounting your GQ to the shaft or hip/chest mounting it? You might try both. I found it more comfortable to mount the control unit to the S handle, under the forearm. This gives better balance when hunting on uneven surfaces such as the sides of hills.
Reg

I have mounted it on the Fisher chest harness, It works very well for me...We will be in a newer pewter chevy truck with matching camper shell and a brown utility trailor near by, I may have my green 10x10 center pole tent set-up also...the coffee will be on by daylight and you're welcome anytime...
