Got my second Injun!!!

I had been working this park over the past month trying to find some hot spots.:detecting: I came up on this old looking walk path that went over a little stream. I have found some newer wheats and a silver rosie of this spot, but nothing to old. I was hunting around some low lying area around the path and got a good hit around 6-8 inches. I dug down and out popped this nice 1907 Indian Head.:clapping: I was in the second bit of dirt and it look like it was rusty, kind of like a steel penny would be. I cleaned it a little to see the shield on back and then I knew. I also found these older wheats around this same area. I did have to give all these coins an electrolysis bath before I could really read the dates. They really had the crud caked on them. :thumbdown:They range from 1912 to 1925. So I believe I am on to maybe some more good finds later on.

Sounds like you may have finally located the "sweet" spot.
It has been my experience that where you find older wheats,
you will USUALLY start to find Mercs and older silver coins.
Hope you do and keep us posted. Gold Nuggets :wiggle:

Way tyo go Crevias. Congrats on the Injun. they are a challenge to find for many of us.

If the Wheats are there and an Injun, then there might be some nice Barbers there too. Hope you hit the spot where the older coins are located and Good Luck and HH to you on your next hunt there.:detecting:

Good job...been a while for me here.
