Got out a bit in a field where trees had been clearcut to make way for a development. Wasn't out for real long but managed to get a one piece gilt button, no gilt left on it though. Noticed I was having some falsing though, especially whenever I moved the coil quickly.
So I pulled the coil cover off, cleaned the dirt out, and the problem went away.
Found a horseshoe lying on the ground as well.
And the fellow I was with found a nest full of snapping turtle eggs that had been dug up by the brush clearing. And two more small turtles trying to lay eggs out in the middle of the cleared area (there's a pond not far away)
