With the nasty stuff in the water and it is too dry and open at the ball field, thought I would hit a school (closed) that I accidently ran across. I had the GPS coordinates so I let the GPS direct me to the school.
School is gone but a newer building is on the property. Big wide open area...just right for detecting...once I get permission and it rains some up here. I hate tearing up grass when it is this hot and dry outside.
On the way home I hit 2 small community parks. Used the Garrett ACE 250 since I didn't want to stay out too long in the heat. First area I went to I realized others have hit this park...probably 'cuz it isn't far from some campgrounds (tourists bringing up their detectors.)
Found 4 dimes and 6 Mem pennies and a green colored tennis ball (our little mini-pincher Dobie dog loves it). Oh BTW if you have a bicycle check the front wheel to make sure the nuts are tight. While I was digging I heard a young boy yelling to look up and see another boy face down on the pavement at an inner section. Only 2 lane traffic and was busy too..other motorists stopped to help. The boy laid there several minutes barely moving. He finally guy to sit up and could see his bicycle had lost its front wheel. Maybe he 'popped a wheelie' and it fell off but whatever it was a very nasty fall. An ambulance showed shortly after to help the lad.
Let's pray he is doing ok. (I already have).
At the second playground there wasn't any sand or tree bark surface..just grass. Under the swing set area was one silver colored (and heavy) bullet shaped item (part of a necklace). Over by the restrooms I found one penny.
Will let ya know later if the silver pendant thiny is silver or not. Being heavy it could be but is shows a seam up one side so doesn't seem to be a 'quality item' if it is silver.
