Got out this a.m. before the heat...

hit an old park that I thought was pretty cleaned out. I know, I know they are never hunted out but it seemed like it was my first time there.
I just bought an explorer 2 and there must of been something wrong with my old explorer xs that I used for 5 years because I found all this in spots I have walked over many times with the old explorer. Same settings, same headphones, different detector. The coins sound off strong with this one on coins in the 8 inch range, the old explorer I had didn't sound off this strong. Gain is the same setting if your thinking that, plus I have always detected with fast and deep on. Whatever it is I'm loving this detector. Jim

Dates, 65 Yes!! 03,04,09 cant tell if there is an S or not on the back, to corroded. The Barber is a 1911. Fun time out. Wheaties in pic are 16s 35.

Great job Jim! I have been wondering about my expl. xs too. I just keep wondering if I got a machine that is not quite up to snuff or if it is just me. I may have to invest in a new expl. in the future. Keep posting those nice finds.

...don't get me wrong I made some great finds with the XS. This explorer 2 is just sounding off so much louder and clearer on deep coins than my xs did. I didn't miss much but now I'm gonna go over some of my old spots and see what happens. Jim

Sure is a great feeling when you go to a spot already pounded and you make finds like those. Congrat's on your finds and very nice 1865 Indian.
