They broke into my house today and took my laptop and the safe. Along with all our important papers were my coins.
I am left with a Morgan Dollar that I Carry on a chain.
So howed your day go?

God, Bob..sorry to hear about that. That really su*** and I hope they find whoever did it. I'm sure you called the local coin shops to be on the lookout. Let me know if I can do anything to help. I'll be gone to Florida this Thurs. through Monday, but let me know how things turn out. Ron

Bob,

Hope they can chase the b-tards down. Had the same thing happen a few years ago and still haven't entirely recovered from that violation. Did they get any of your detectors? Those would be the easiest to chase down if they try to sell them esp if the serial nos are supplied.

Also, don't laugh but do change out your tooth brushes. A copper here warned me to do that since there are some sick b-tards out there. Might be an urban legend but it also might be a case of legend becoming real.

all of my coins are very sentimental to me. It has nothing to do with the monetary value...although yes they were probably worth a lot of money. My babbling point is that I'm sure you found a big majority of what was taken from you...and that makes it that much worse.
Sorry...hope they catch them.

That really sucks,I hope you find out who did it,and you get all of your stuff back.Good luck and very sorry.

Been there Bob! Well, not exactly that bad of a robbery, but any robbery shouldn't happen. They stole Sportscards and Coins along with a bunch of Pocket Change when I got robbed. Luckily, the idiot guys that did it started to bring back items saying that they purchased them from an unknown person and I was lucky to get some of it back with a check of over $3,000. Hope you have some luck in finding these Crooks. Better get a Security System like I had to so you don't get taken again Bob. Sorry about your prized possessions and hope the Police can find them. :(

I just read your post and i just feel awful for you. I can only imagine the anger and disappointment you must be feeling. I myself have over twenty years of my own finds stored in a safe and would be heart broke if they were stolen.
Most of us here in this forum in one way or another are coin collectors. Maybe we could be of some help watching for something you may have lost that has some identifying feature. Perhaps something that you posted a picture of here on the forum.
Places we could watch for a certain item might be on ebay, coin shows, jewerly shops, pawn shops and others i havn't even thought of. I also would be willing to donate $$ towards a reward for the return or information on the whereabouts of your collection. Just a thought, anyone have any other ideas where to look?:usmc::usaflag:

I'm so sorry to hear about that!!!! It is surely devastating: I had it happen to me 5 yrs ago. I hope the authorities catch him before he sells you valuables. Keep the faith!! EddieB

Sorry to hear that... Just be thankful noone was home and noone got hurt in your "family"

Hopefully they find them really fast..

A lot of detecting finds get stolen it's not uncommon. I have had things dissapear too since starting out in the eighty's. Coins and other things that just vanish, not sure what happened to many things but i suspect people "visiting the house" which includes all kinds of repair men who visit , a lot of people will just take what they like if it takes their fancy. I always leave my detectors away in a secure location with the coils stored at another different location to deter thefts. Always sell valuable finds too before some one gets the chance to rob you thats my thinking.
