Got the G2 out relic hunting today a few goodies and silver.

Had a fun hunt today with the G2 today. The more I use it the more I like it. It runs quite and has plenty of depth and loves brass. Few henry 44 cartridges part of a Spencer, Gardner bullet and I met George too. Not bad for a pounded area.

Like you, Jason, the more I use the G2 the more I like it. I was hoping the weather would cooperate so I could get away to my favorite northern Utah sites but it might be white by then. :( I've pulled a lot of bullets, spent cases, and several complete Henry and other cartridges during the past 25+ years, but I'm sure the G2 (especially with the 5" DD coil) will help me recover even more good targets.

It looks like you've having some good success as well and I wish you the best on future hunts. regardless of which coil I use, 5" DD or 11" DD or tinker with another, I can almost always run at full Sensitivity and the G2 just purrs along smoothly. A fun detector to use, to be sure.

A few people in the UK now have this machine and speak very highly of it.
On the above machines it has been posted that when they turn the machine on the word GOLD comes on the screen.
One guy was concerned about this but he has been reassured that it mearly confirms that at least electronically the G2 and Gold Bugs are one and the same machine.
I asked him with the machine turned off to press and hold down the GG button and then to turn the tector on, this he did and the screen read GOLD v 3 for the software.
He was then a happy guy as he now new he had the latest updates.
Are your G2's the same??

Thanks.

It was not real deep maybe 6 inches . But in a me and three other guys have pounded for years. Do not know why the g2 hit it and others detectors did not. Maybe just never went over it but that is hard to believe?
