Got the Gold Bug S.E. out for a hunt today

Wasn't planning on getting another one but managed to get my original back after it was serviced .....

Well it does hit high conductor's now ......Still think more than ground balance was involved ...It's not mind blowing on high conductor's but it is acceptable....But the real power is in the lower conductor's say 70 on down...man you got to see the sensitivity to believe it ...And it's super stable at 100 gain....

O'K' I hot a spot in the woods I have been hunting for a couple of weeks with the T-2....it's a small house site and was sure I had it cleaned out on the easy targets ...especcially since I was running the t-2 extra hot 99 sens..

Well I was wrong I didn't spend a lot of time in there today but I got some easy target's the t-2 just plain missed and I was using the T-2 in 1 tone disc 21...I used the GB disc 30 2 tone..And pulled some targets ...couple of toe taps, part of a pewter spoon ,lead pencil,Keyhole for trunk,stud piece.suspender clip lantern part was real deep about 11 inches...ground was 85 4 Fe bars..




couple of the targets came out of holes I had started with the T-2 then stopped thinking they were iron


Great machine for low to mid conductors in bad dirt...I'll bet coin's on edge will hit good too.First pic is shot of chimney.. second is find's

Niceley done.. Good to see you have the gold Bug SE... Thats a nice looking machaine..lol I like it with the 11 inch coil.
 
I believe the 11" might be for the Gold Bug..It came straight from the distributor with a tag on it that said GB? It was like a tag they put on there themselves to tell coils apart?But it really adds depth to the detector ...

it's interesting you noted those as "easy" targets. When I first tested the Omega it was the "easy coins" in hard hit areas that really grabbed my attention.

Being especially hot on zinc and below sounds great. The 1270 is one of my favorites for jewelry hunting, rings especially since it hits the big bands deep and has good sens to the small low conductivity rings as well. The GB SE or Tek G2 should raise the bar for me in that category for sure.

Now for a "few" :lol: questions! How did the disc 30 tone break work out for you in iron? I know it would depend on the site but did quite a bit of iron come in with the high tone and where is the small nail break point... equivalent to 16 on the Omega and 21 on the T2? Were good targets found below 40 when co-located or did it squeak em all out as non-ferrous?

I see the 21 is best for nails but that could change a little maybe toward's less number's..I was running the 30 to get rid of some bigger iron ...this site is no where near hunted just down to nails at at 100 degrees I'm not going to get rid of the bigger iron right now:)

But the 30 seemed to help alot...the other 31-39 iron was broken low high rolls..I was just digging the solid hits and all but 1 item was non-ferrous and yes they were hitting high tone below say about 43 was what I saw.
The T-2 should of got these targets since it was ran in 1 tone but I believe the t-2 was actually having problem's seeing them in the bad dirt..This is where the bad ground handling abilities of the gold Bug shines plus the ability to set your own tone break in any dirt is fantastic and what I have always wanted on the t-2..Just because a nail cancels at 21 in the air doesnt mean it will read 21 in the dirt.

Fire away questions and I can do some videos also if any one wants to see anything..Really a sweet machine !!!

Like you, I don't totally go by those type of air tests, but that is still totally amazing on the dime.
