Got to build a disc program last night

Mike Hillis

Well-known member
Had a few free minutes last night so I got my goodie box out and started to learn accept a coin program. When I got done, I saved it, then tested it to make sure it still accepted what I wanted.

When done, I thought, "Hey!, This is pretty cool!" :super:

I went to show the wife and she didn't have time for any of my foolishness at that particular moment so I turned it off and put back behind it's door. :cheekkiss:

Then later :inlove: I got it back out to show off my 'foolishness' I turned it on and....well...bottom line, when I went to retrieve it I accidental saved a black screen over it.

She smiled at my foolishness and went back to reading her book. :nopity:

I turned the Explorer off and put it back behind the door and told her, "This is great! I get to do it again!" :bouncy:

Hi Mike. Hey, I'm sure we all have done the same thing and it's just part of the learning process with these machines. You will get it figured out in time and be kicking butt in no time.........:) HH.

Don't you like just playing around with it just to see what kinds of different patterns you can come up with. Good Luck with resetting it and just make sure to save the programmed pattern you just did or it might get a little old and frustrating.

I'm toying with the idea of getting the explorer II. Have you had enough experience with it to give me a thumbs up or down and what was it that made that decision for you. I promise I won't tell your wife if you don't tell mine, "Toys are Us"... Thanks Al

Hey Mike.......don't fret...you aren't the first to do something like that! Besides, now you just get more practice and familiarity with the new toy! All part of that "curve" we talked about!!!:wiggle::cheers:

Sorry to hear about that Mike,
~ all that work and you just saved a black screen.
Never mind, it's an enjoyable activity to program your Explorer eh!!!
I'll just bet that new program is the quietest running one in your machine though...

I redid it last night so I'm good. Working on a gold pattern now.

Hope to get it outside mucho this holiday weekend.

Hi Al,

I'm not searching for a new primary machine, just looking for a good notch discriminator that will compliment the features and strengths of my T2. So far the Explorer II seems to be a better fit than the others I've tried.

I'll need several more weeks with it before I could give you a thumbs up or thumbs down on it

I can tell you I like the design and feature set.

HH

Hey Mike....remember what I said about the learning curve, concentrate on the tones first, and use the meter as a secondary decision tool.:minelab:....I am looking forward to hearing and seeing the results of your 4th of July weekend. Finally, my Summer Special ends at 4:00PM today, so I can break away and do some hunting myself.
