Gotta make hay when the sun is shining.

The sun was shining all spring and I cut a lot of hay. Now that summer is here the hay might be drying up and I feel myself fading. Hot out and muggy as heck. I wanted an early start which didn't happen. Got to yesterday's site and my first find was a wheat. This site produces around 5 wheats per 100 coins which is great but has yielded no silver. It finally did today but only once with a 1950 dime. First silver coin in a month. A total of three wheats, mexican coin, big sinker, theatre masque and some other tid-bits. Fun day but only could go 1 1/2 hours before the heat got me down. It seems like a long way back to all those 200 coin hunts from just a month ago. I might go out tonight, but if I don't, my weekend totals were just over 100 coins, 6 wheats, a sliver dime, two foreign coins, and a silver ring. Very atypical for me.

Great haul for an hour and a half!:thumbup:Congrats on the silver!:cheers:Yeah man, don't over do it in this heat. Just have fun. Happy Hunting!:)

I just love seeing silver in the ground. Too bad it doesn't happen all that often. Started out the year averaging about one silver coin to every 300 clad. It was well over 2000 clad coins between this one and the last and I have hunted some older spots too. In 1950 three of these dimes would have bought over a gallon of gas. Something to think about.

It looks like i'm the first detector to hit this spot in a long time. The silver will be there when I get back. It's a lot of clad for a relatively short hunt too.
