GQ V2 shaft mount project

colt

New member
I been thinking about mounting my GQ V2 control box on the S handle for a few days, and this morning I decided to go for broke. I spent the first three hours making a mess and after looking at the results, I gathered all of my hard work up and thru it in the trash.

My second atempt was more thought out, I wanted to attach the control box to the S handle and attach a stand to the back section, with out adding a lot of weight. I used aluminum plate and square 3/4" pipe, I tried placing the control box at different location, on the handle to find a spot that would offer a good balance. After 4 hours this is my final product, the control box is mounted upside down, with 5" of clearance between the bottom of the control box and the ground. The balance feels about right for me anyway.

I have to thank Mr. Bill and Reg for some good tips on the Goldquest, now I am set up to do some serious nugget hunting this next weekend.
