while using original goldquest in the heavy surf several times last week, i found much flex in three piece shaft assembly................probably good if a person is traveling, but for a stay at one beach most of the time guy i decided to modify.
i disassembled my excal. which is mounted on solid alum. garrette sea hunter frame, added new arm cup from goldqest and lower shaft with coil
no flex, works great in the surf
