Gray Ghost wireless

Waterdog

Well-known member
I have a XP Deus with the ws4 headphones and the 11 inch coil on it. I just added a wireless set of gray ghost head phones and really think it is going to make a difference. I know I had to turn the volume down with the Gray Ghosts .

Good luck.

I had them,,,didn't like the high tone produced,,got the Vance phones,,they sound better.

Makes working heavy iron easier for me.

The Ghosts are VERY comfortable, but so are the Vance muffs.

I've read online where people bash the Ghosts, but I personally like them. I also like the Vance muffs. I think which you like better depends on your hearing and individual taste. Both do the job. It's like a Chevy vs a Ford both are going to get you where you want to go most likely, but you'll find some are fanatical about one brand or the other.

I went out with the Gray Ghost's today and found them to be louder than the ws4 headphones, which helped me a little today. I found several quarters, dimes and Nickles today while out hunting. I am looking forward to the weekend to get out and give her a run.

I found the Vance headphones too be very uncomfortable after hunting for a few hours but the sound was great. They made my ears hurt because they are not wide enough in the cuffs to keep from pressing hard against your ears. Someone had a video showing how to make them more comfortable. The next time I get a pair I will still go with the Vance headphones and try to modify them to make them more comfortable.

There are a couple of things you can do with the Vance headphones. You can just gently really open them up which is what I did, and that pretty much made them perfect for me. I wore them for hours with no discomfort.

The other thing you can do if that doesn't do the trick is replace the foam. From what I understand the newer phones have a different muff on them which should help but the older ones you might need to do that with and the video was on Youtube.
