General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

I bought this machine new in 2009. I've taken it to the field literally 4 times since then. It actually kind of surprised me as it found some wheat within a few minutes of me hitting a big city park that's been beaten well. If you're reading this, you probably know about this machine so I won't post the stats here, just the facts about it. I can't tell it from new, I don't see any scratches on it, and I tend to baby my stuff. I have an extra foam hand grip I bought for it, but the one on it is still like new.

Included are the 7" widescan coil and the 4" coil both on their own rods. These have not been used.

I have the owner's manual with it and the original paperwork. I also have the original box for it. Warranty card was sent it and Tesoro MAY warrant it if you buy it, that's up to them, but I've heard they do that. So don't count on it 100% but they may continue to honor the lifetime warranty.

I am selling it because two new machines, the XP Deus and the Minelab CXT have intrigued me, and I plan to do more research and buy one of them next spring (I'm learning towards the XP). If it doesn't sell, I would be ok with keeping it, though right now I don't really need two detectors. So I would want and need to get a fair price for it (in other words I'm not looking to dump it as a bargain basement special). I guess I'm looking for people to ask any questions they have an make a fair offer on it. If none of the offers works out, that's ok I like this machine honestly. So think it over and ask any questions, and make an offer on it. I'm NOT looking to trade as that would only get me back where I started, needing to sell a detector.

Last thing is I don't have a Paypal account and don't want to get one. (Used to have one but frankly got tired of them). Postal money order only please, or you can send a check but I would have to make sure it clears before shipping. Please be in the US and reachable by phone as I will be too. I've sold on here before though that was years ago my good feedback should still be there. I encourage you to search on it.

I didn't list a price as I was looking for the best offer on it, as I'm not sure what "market" value is (whatever people will pay I guess). But in thinking about it, I'd want to get 500 for the package and another 50 to have it packed by UPS and shipped insured (if they don't pack it they fight you on claims). If someone is really wanting to scrimp, I guess I can get a box and pack it the best I can with what I have cheaper and they just take their chances, but I can't recommend that. It's true the shipping may be less, or it may be more, I'm thinking 50 should cover it anywhere in the US 48 where I will ship to. If it doesn't my tough luck.

But that's really about what I'd sell it for. Normally I'd go a bit lower but these hold their value decently well from what I've seen and if I can't get that, I am ok with keeping it or giving it to a buddy if the closet gets full! Since you asked, that's what I'm thinking in terms of price. Honestly it would be borderline fair just for the detector, and with the coils, yeah, I feel it's good for me and for the buyer.

Oh I forgot to mention too there are no batteries in it. I take them out when I'm not using it (which has been most of the time) so they don't leak. It uses 8 AA batteries. Tesoro says you will get 20 to 25 hours on that. Based on my use I think that's probably accurate.
 
I've decided I'm just not comfortable doing business this way anymore. It's too risky quite frankly for both buyer and seller.

Also, since I don't know how the new detectors perform in the "real world", it seems wise to keep it until I get a machine that I trust and feel confident in, and only then sell it, plus it should sell easier in the spring around here than now.

Just my thinking, anyway guys thanks for looking.
