Great Day at the farm

shooter

Member
Was a pretty good day today , the spoon is solid silver, a NO DATE Liberty, 1904 IH and a 10K HS ring in great shape. The ring came in at a Solid 45 ID wasn't going to dig it , but it was so solid I said what the heck, 5" up she came. Don't take those Pull-Tab ID for granted.................

WTG Shooter:thumbup: I would call that a perfect day...hh rick in mi.

Great day, for sure. Does the ring have a year date? Nice assortment of great finds. HH jim tn

Been doing it for 2 years now and still coming up with stuff. Other finds were 3 Large Cent ,2 no date the other 1851, 2 NJ coppers 1797, 1 British penny and 1 British half penny, plus IH's and more silver. This farm is dated 1824 and still finding stuff, slime pickings now but still finding, the rest of the fields are over ground, the field I work is maintained by the town. Now the other farm I've been doing is from the 1850's, been working it for about 1 and a half years and I can't understand not coming up with anything 1 IH and 1 Merc. there is just nothing coming out of these fields, I mean they had to clear the trees, get rid of the rocks and plow and harvest. just nothing coming up, and it's still an active farm.

1954 Clifton NJ Int. "R.A.T. inside. have to contact the school and see if I can get some info to the owner. The school is about 30 miles from here.

Yep, digging those mid tone pays off.

Neat!!! It will be interesting to see what develops. Let us know. Over the past three years I was able to get 2 returned. They were 2001 and 2005 dates, though. Older ones can be a little tougher. HH jim tn

Shooter ,good finds sounds like a really great spot to find more history. The problem with this hobby is its addicting like fishing always looking for the next big one, I know I am addicted always looking for that next older coin or artifact. Good Luck Ezra.

Glad to see you are finally getting some good dirt time. I can't wait to see what the colder climate guys and gals start finding. It's been a rough winter for you. Way to go and keep sharing please.

i know this is little consolation, however, one must bear in mind these people were farmers, and as such
just about all were very poor.it is quite possible they just didn't have much to drop,or they didn't drop it!,and if they did
it just wasn't dropped in these particular fields!.it cannot be ruled out!..my ancestors were farmers, and back then they didn't really have
two cents to rub together!...just sayin!

That part I understand, just the difference in the amount of finds from one farm to another. Also they use to do community haresting in this area where everyone would help harvest each others farm.Just couldn't believe there's noting coming up.
