Great day of diggins

Had a very fun day today. My second silver plated spoon in a week. And my first ever Civil War buttons. The button on the top right was found to be a Maine State Seal Officer's coat button but I need your help identifying the top left button and I don't have a clue what the copper dome shaped thing is with the "E" under the buttons. Any idea what the glass sun is? Any help will be appreciated.

The Indian heads are 1883 and 1902 (in great shape)
The Wheats are 1909 (not VDB), 1914, 1926, 1951 and 1952d

This is also my first ever silver quarter (1936)

You found some good items. Like that indian head coin and those buttons.

Great finds. Looks like you found an excellent site.

Chris

The button on the left is a G.A.R button. That stands for grand army of the republic which was a group for union civilwar veterans most towns had their own G.A.R. post much like we have VFW post today. Hope this helped.

Thanks everyone for looking and for the link, John.

I'm going back today to re-check some of the iffy beeps and see if anything else turns up.

With all of these great finds turning up in small yards, I can see why people only hunt home sites. I guess I need to get up the nerve to go door to door asking for permission.

Great finds.

Great finds, I'm going to a old school yard in the morning if it's not raining. The school was built in the early 1900's, maybe I'll have some nice finds also.
