On Ebay Today, BRAND NEW IN BOX WITH WARRANTY. $999.00...
Explorer 2 with Explorer Pro package ( 2 coils: 8" and 10.5" included)
Seller Tf067 !
Wished I waited to buy my Explorer by 3 weeks.
$1,185. Would have saved $180.00!
How can he sell them for that?
I thought Minelab set the price with the Dealers!
Thats what I was told by Kellyco!
Oh, well...Live and learn!!!!

DEALERS ARE ONE THING REPS ARE ANOTHER I TRY TO BY FROM REPS AS OFTEN AS I CAN FOR EXAMPLE SOMETHING THAT THE DEALER SELLS FOR 1100.00 YOU CAN GET FROM A REP FOR 850.00

Not sure what a rep is but Minelab has one policy for whetever you want to call someone that sells a new unit with a warranty and that is a maximum discount of 15% off list price. They are taking a stricter stance in terms of any unit being offered with a warranty at prices under the 15%. So dealer, rep, catalouger or whatever title you see, pricing has been set and is being enforced by Minelab. A great deal may turn into a marginable one when you find out the warranty is not actually in effect.
If you have any questions on the new pilicy and enforcement, give them a call at 702-891-8809.

Any Minelab metal detector sold by an authorized Minelab dealer on ANY online auction or classified forum can only be a used unit with no warranty. It must state the serial number and say "No Warranty." Dealers are required to fill out their customers warranty card and should, as a courtesy, send it in to Minelab. As Andy states, Minelab is taking a stronger stance to protect their customers warranty registration. Serial numbers are being tracked to the original dealer. So before you spend your hard earned money, get assurance there is a valid warranty. Good hunting, David @ Dixie
