great end to slow year.

alright so i took a couple days off to make a 4 day weekend with the intent to dig hopefully 2 of those days. well it's sunday and i finally get out, pathetic! anyways i head out to a town called fircrest, which is about 20 min down the freeway. beautiful town and dates back to early 1900s. in this park over the last couple yrs i have found a few nice silver pieces of jewelry and my first merc dime. that was the only silver, or really old coin i've pulled from this spot. so today i decided to hit the tot lots and after nothing but clad i hit the area where my merc was found. after about 30 min of more clad i was calling it a day. for some reason the utility strip was calling me and hunted down about a block when i got a 41-42 signal that was super steady. to me this means foil every time but i dug it a low and behold...... GOLD! up pops this gold heart stamped 10k and some makers marks from roughly 3" deep. i'm so glad i didn't give up before and kept at it a bit longer. after the heart i found a 54 d wheat, which was just a inch under the grass. i'm thinking that was a recent drop and not far from the wheat got a strange, jumpy signal. dug that and found a modern 5 cent euro coin. glad i made it out and really happy to find some gold again. i know i've been over that exact signal in the past but never dug it. so here's to digging it all cause you just never know!!!!!

Hey way to go on the gold. It has been said many times you don't know for sure unless you dig it.

Nice!
