I don't have any message on my screen after I ground balance, but I read Jeffs book and he suggest to hold the coil waist level and then lower the coil to the ground. You should get no or little change in threshold. Well my threshold gets louder on both machines. I put the machine in the all metal mode to make sure there was no iron or material in the ground. Both machines were at Whites factory and came back with new coils and a tune up. I did mess with pre-amp gain and put that up and the Ac sensitivity I turned up. I would like some suggestions before I go back out to my coin garden. Both machines pick up and ID my buried coins, most are at 4ins. I have one dime at 7ins. and this is the one I try o tune my machines to. Neither machine will ID that coin in factory presets. Only when I turn up my pre-amp gain do I get a good hit and ID on that coin that is buried at 7ins. plus. I need my machines a little hotter then the factory pre-sets as I am going back to some of my old sites and trying to pull out the deeper coins. Can I run both machines like this doing my ground balancing. I hold the coil at waist level and I don't hear any wavering and when I pull the trigger its smooth, but as I lower the coil to the ground still holding the trigger the threshold gets louder
