Ground balance

How many use tracking and why or why not..what kind of area would you use it and not use it. It seems when I GB most of the time I pump the coil. I can see the ground change and the deuse becomes more unstable. Do you guys GB a lot or leave it where its at. I have read that if you are in ground that doesn't reads low or doesn't read anything on the right hand graph then you should leave it at 90 but if I do a ground pump the coil up and down a few times on the ground I will notice that bar climbing about half way...then going back to being empty...any thoughts I am only a month old on the deus and you all have helped a lot..

I run Tracking because I like the stability. If I'm needing some extra depth I will use manual but all my custom programs uses Tracking.

As most of my permissions and general ground conditions over here in the UK are pretty mild then i run in factory default of 90.i have one farm that is about 70 miles inland and the soil is so highly mineralized its nearly black like detecting a beach but for that i use a Pulse.

Cannot suggest any other settings, but running in default GB seems to work well for me,also i like to keep things simple, the Deus is a high tech machine but i tend to run it like a beep and dig Tesoro

All 3 ways methods of Deus GB are very good. For open field relic hunting I tend to use tracking. Sometimes I'll use pumping when the site has lots of iron, sometimes manual. A few things to keep in mind when using manual GB is electronics temps which can be driven by air temps too can cause GB setting ot fluctuate. So when running both pumping and manual methods if your Deus gets noisy reground balance. Correct ground balance is key to pulling the deepest of finds. And you will hear folks who say they run a little negative to maybe pull a deepie. With the deus audio I don't find this very helpful. I'm seeing running GB at ground number or ground number +1 seems to give best performance for me.

All this GB info just has to be "site-specific" as I have heard of some folks pumping, others running manual, some running a little positive...some a little negative...and a few who ignore it completely. I guess whatever works for your area. My questions come down to this..."Should it be that much of a concern...how much depth can I really lose if I just left it alone?"

Happy and safe Holidays to all!
