GROUND BALANCE

Do yall auto gb or Manuel gb? And why?

if the ground is not showing much minerals or hot ground I leave the machine on 90...I will pump and then later do a manual GB if needed but it is key to do this right or else your machine and your hunt will suffer

Ground here is about 85-87 so I leave it like they do in Europe at the 90 default setting. By going a few points above the actual right setting it eliminates ground noise from the uneven ground (up and down spots) and changing mineralization areas or spots as you sweep along detecting.

I have always used factory default of 90,never had any issues with it thus far,the ground conditions in the UK are pretty good on the whole.

I run in tracking. Usually stays 1 number above the ground reading.

Thank yall for your responses

if you run tracking in trashy areas doesn't it just end up masking more and more signals as it tracks the iron?

I run tracking GB in fairly clean ground. In pretty trashy ground I run manual. In the worst of iron pits I run manual between 86-88 and do very well. You will notice if in a real trashy area running tracking G/B your machine is likely to track down and get very noisy. It may never track back to good GB until you get out of the bad area.

I use my Deus mainly for tot lots. virtually zero trash or minerals. When coin hunting at a school or park use basic 1.
