Ground balancing? Overload

When you go to pumping to ground balance your deus and the readout says "ground balance overload" what does that mean exactly? I have tried pumping over a know buried target and it will just say ground balance failed. Anyone know what the overload means?
Just curious as to why the messages would be different.

Did You extend the bottom rod with coil on it. I had a friend try to balance his and it just overload every time, he had the bottom all the way up. That makes it to close to the control box, they are very senetive that way. Don't try to do the balance close to a car or truck, that don't work eather.

Pumping over a target won't work.
You need to pump it over CLEAN ground.

OK thanks. I know not to ground balance over a target, but I did it on purpose to see what it would say. Its a different message than the other one. I am just saying its a different message on the screen, and I was wondering why. I looked in the manual and that is not covered in it.

OH got ya...
What it is telling you is you are next to or over a very large target.. iron. tin, copper, bag of coins, pile of nails etc..... you get the idea.

OK, got it. It wouldn't give you that reading if you were over say minerals in the ground would it. It would have to be large metal under the coil, right?
