Ground mineralization can someone help

1 Can I just get a rundown of how to check this ground mineralization?

2 Also does it vary in real time or do you have to keep checking? I read up on the 70 and just want to make sure I would be finding the heavier concentrations of black sand hopefully leading to some yeller rocks.

Going to grandmas for thxgiving and I have found flakes before so I would like to try and trace the source if possible. But some placer action would be cool. Will try and get some pics.

If you are you wanting to know how often you need to check the ground balance, mineralization levels can change as often as every step you take. Or it might be stable for most of the hunt. It varies by site. So if you are running with a set ground phase adjustment, you should check it frequently until you get an idea how much that site varies. Or you could put the X-TERRA in Tracking and forget about it. Tracking mode allows the X-TERRA to maintain an accurate ground balance setting, based on the parameters of the software. Kind of like ground balance "on the fly". For those of us who like to run with a positive or negative ground phase, the 705 does that one better in that it offers Tracking GB Offset.

If you are wanting to actually measure the mineralization of the ground, here is the link to a post BarnacleBill made explaining how to check your ground mineralization. http://www.findmall.com/read.php?55,574329,574329#msg-574329

Ok I just have to look for those higher numbers it would appear. Then probably run the sluice in that area unless I hear the beep of something and dig those targets. Last time I was finding specks and flakes at a foot(panning). This time I am taking a shovel and trying to dig for bedrock. Plus I have the detector so I can scan out my plastic pans first for any clinkers. I could not find any history of this creek ever being mined but I know there are other creeks and rivers that run off this mountain that have given up the yellow stuff.

I would like to trace it to the source.
