GT in all metal newbie

Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum and I find it very useful. I'm relatively new to detecting as well. Started last summer with an Ace 250 and now with a Tesoro Lobo, I've been thinking about upgrading to a GT as I've heard that's a great all-around machine and that's just what I need. I might to for an Excalibur to make it even more versatile, not sure yet
My question would be, do these machines have multiple sounds in AM or just a single?
If I go for the Excalibur and look after it, will it still be waterproof after let's say 3 years of use? I would mainly use it on land and occasionally in salt and fresh waters.

The GT in AM only will give you one tone, and if you run a meter with your GT no Meter Readings in AM

But most of the Time you would switch from AM back to Disc to see if the Target is Desirable to Dig

In disc you can turn the disc as low as it goes and this will reject iron while getting you all the other metals so you will have your tone ID along with the fact you wont have to ground balance and have a meter to help ID your targets. I also find for my ground conditions in ND I get more depth in disc than all metal like many do in their areas.
I believe with the Excalibur you have to do maintenance with it to keep it waterproof or it will leak water.

These are great detectors, but you do have to have some patience and get to know them with their tones, those that do learn them swear by them, those that don't swear at them.
I believe the Sovereigns and Excalibur's will be in the hall of fame as being one of the greatest detectors ever made.
