GT to Safari?

Well I'm a dedicated Sovereign GT user but can't help having my interest peaked by the new Safari.
I was never into the Quattro's and the safari looks like an upgraded Quattro to me. Or is it a beast all in itself?

Minelab's are notorious for being slow machines but I am intrigued with the safari's fast recovery. I'd love to hear peoples opinions on this new machine.
I have no problem switching over from my GT if it's a worthy upgrade.
