GTI 2500 Users Question

I have been using a GTI 2500 for about 8 years or so and it is the original treasure talk machine. I have never sent it in and had it upgraded with the mineral chip etc. What, if any difference is noticeable after the upgrade to the machine?
Anyone use the 2500 on the beach in wet sand before and after the upgrade and have any change?

Thanks

I had the GTI 2500 chip upgraded, and it didn't make any noticeable difference. But, I have very little mineralization here, so that was an expected outcome. The new chip was introduced because the GTI & GTP detectors had difficulty operating in very high mineralzed soils, to the point where they would give that over-sized target ring when scanning. The new chip allowed the detector to function in those areas. If you are talking about the wet sand at salt water beaches, the chip should help somewhat, but salt will still give the machine some falsing. You will have to play with your sensitivity and discrimination to get the maximum useage. Another possibility is to manually ground balance the machine in true all metal mode. Work the beaches in a parallel fashion, so the ground conditions don't change so drastically.

Thanks John, I was curious if the upgrade would make much difference on the beach, I did not use the machine on the beach this year on vacation after my wife bought me an E-Trac before vacation but my son used it.
Sent you a PM about the Infinium, I am considering a water machine so I can wade a some without worry of machine damage.

It will operate much better in high mineralization especially if one does a bit of nuggetshooting. Some of the other guys can chime in about the beach.
