I have noticed that occasionally my GTI 2500 seems to go to sleep in discriminate mode.
I'm wondering if switching between the probe and the coil constantly eventually causes the 2500 to go stupid.
A factory reset seems to restore everything to their former glory.
What seems to happen is the detector looses alot of sensitivity in the discriminate mode. All metal seems OK. How I happened to notice this was that I lost a large metal lock washer, and was using the detector to try and find it in the grass. I eventually saw it and swinging directly over it caused nothing to beep. I went to all metal and yup it was there. Back to discriminate and nothing.
I did the reset and discriminate started working A OK.
I once read that when you change coils you should always do a reset.
Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon?
Maybe a call to Garrett to see what they say....
How many GTI 2500 users are out there that also have the Sunray probe?
