GTI Coils

I have the standard coil, the big coil and the sniper coil. I would like to do some gold and relic detecting. Which of the other coils available for the 2500 would any of you recommend? Thanks.

I have prospected with the 5"x10" scorcher coil, but didn't have any luck. I know of some guys that have found some nuggets with that set up, though. I had much better luck prospecting with the Scorpion and Infinium, myself. For relic hunting, I would suggest the 10"x14" searchcoil. The 12.5" that you have is great, too, and the imaging feature is very helpful. Still, my personal overall favorite coil for the GTI is that 5"x10" because it is lightweight and you get more coverage at depth with the double D configuration. Just my two cents worth. Happy hunting!

ONLY in hot ground will you get more depth than the round coils with the DD's. They are not as sensitive as the round coils either. If ground is not too hot I prefer the stock coil for prospecting as it is the most sensitive of all the coils except for the 4.5 sniper coil. The 5x10 DD is much more stable in hot ground but it is not very sensitive on small nuggets....I can attest for this first hand.
