GTI1500 COIN HOOVER

Spent a few hours at my local park, which I thought I had cleaned out. - Used 12.5' imaging coil in amongst the trash! Cool...

Nice going Blake. That's quite a nice haul there.
What did you use the first time....the 9 1/2" coil ?
You've got yourself a great coin machine to be sure.
Sometimes a different coil or even searching from
another direction can give you surprising results.
Guess you just proved that to yourself.
Have you been using the GTI1500 for while ?
Just wondering. Looks like you did great to me.
Good hunting to you ! Gene

And that was with the larger coil in a trashy spot??

Go Garrett, go! :garrett:

Blake

Great pickins !!!:clapping: Ive been using my GTI1500 for a
few months now and its starting to make sense ( a LITTLE)

I found tips here that helped lot low and slow etc
I still dig more trahs than i should ( I think !!) but not as much
as the first few weeks i used the unit.It takes time i guess and
at leas learning is fun ...

Congrats again

Yeah, I previously went over the site with stock coil - I have done that site so many times it just goes to show I need to be more precise in how I search! I dug 3 coins from 1 hole - Imaging displayed size C so if you hunt a park for coins you cant rely on imaging too much or your going to miss good stuff for sure! I need to find a method of marking out this field into sections and cover it precisely but It is a real busy park with dog walkers, so no sticks etc - I thought about cutting tennis balls in half and putting them in a rectangle shape and move them as I clear an area - I have real problems walking in a straight line in a large grassy park area! One Idea that works, in the morning, when dew is on the grass, your footprints show up clearly so you can see where you have been! (and how wobbly your supposedly straight line is when your detecting)

I don't think you will ever get it all Blake no matter how careful you may be.
You can probably thin it out considerably though through a good methodical
search. Now when it comes to large grassy areas with no landmarks that can
be tough searching it thoroughly. Thing about it is most others never did it either,
Any temporary marker on the ground should help you. Just take it one section at
a time and not get in a hurry. Hunt the area you are in right then thoroughly.
Next time come back and start where you left off. Yeah, I do the dew in the grass
trick too. It's a good one. Good hunting to you Blake ! Gene

Yeah you can't ever completely hunt an area out with a detector. Only way you can is to scrape off every inch of dirt down to a given depth and sift every square inch of it.

Get some of those extra long golf tees, and paint the ends day-glo orange. Some sticks or tongue depressors work too. Then as you go around the area, just shove one of these takes at convenient intervals to mark your way.

Not bad for a cleaned out Park! I was only talking on the phone yesterday to a very experienced GTI user. He likes nothing more than to go behind Minelab users (Minelab dominates the Aussie market) to pull out all the coins that they miss, with his 1500.

Depth of coins between 1 and 7 inches - I passed on several possible coins - I just couldn't dig deep enough to get em out so had to leave them for another day...

great haul blake i limit parks and stuff to 4 or 5 inches
Im too new to dig much deepr till i learn
pinpointing better
