GTP1350 problem, new batteries and it went nuts

Is there something to look for or some kind of hard reset to fix this? Everything was working fine untill new batteries were installed and now the machine is going crazy beeping and grunting nonstop. Any suggestions or does it need to go in for warranty?
Thanks in advance,

- - and when in doubt, press and hold the power button until the system does a reset.

Is the "profiling turned off?. It should be. You turn it off hitting the pinpoint button once. That's the mode you hunt in. When you want to use the profiling, you just hit the pinpoint button and it turns on.

Take the coil cover off and clean it and the coil with water, then dry them. I hope this helps. Happy Hunting!:)

I'm not familiar with the 1350, but with the GTI 2500, sometimes when I push the pinpoint button the lower edge of it stays "stuck" with the frame, so I just gently push to unstuck it. bottom line, check no button its pressed or stucked.

good luck!

Thanks for the responses guys. We tried them but had to send it off today. Hopefully turnaround time wont be too long. I know Garrett has great service so I'm sure it will be sorted in short order. Is there a general timeframe on repairs? Thanks again and HH

Didn't know he had a coil cover. Those things fill up with moisture and debris and you detector goes nutso. One reason I don't use one. Learned my lesson on that one many moons ago.

Yeah I used to sweat it over the covers. Now If I get a detector that doesn't have one, and its not a big buck model, I spray a couple coats of truck bed liner on the bottom.
If it's a high dollar unit, I get one for resale appeal later. Otherwise it's not a show stopper.

Regardless, Garrett will take care of him.
