hit the beach at 7am till 12pm today the sand has started to come back in but there were still heaps of targets.
i spent about 3 hours out at chest deep that's were the gold ring came from then the surf got to big so i hunted the shallows & found heaps of coins + the old gold plate ring.
had some great finds today the gold ring is the dirtyest i"v ever found, the lump of coins was an awesome find it turned out to have 1 florin - 1 penny - 1 half penny in it ;D the old plated ring was a neat find to it"s got the initials AT on the front .
all up i got 19 pre dec coins 9 were silver 3 florins 1 shilling 4 sixpence & 1 1927 threepence some of the Penny's were quite old to.
the coin count today was 114 coins which is not to bad & the $ count was better than last weekend at $15-$16.
i was going to clean the gold ring up but wile getting the crud off it it broke so i"ll knock the stones out & send it to the scrapers.
i"m still cleaning the silver coins from last week now i"v got more i better pull my finger out.

Great haul mate! So if I understand you correctly, the encrusted band fell apart, as you tried to clean it? I would have called that one real gold, possibly 9K, as they can still corrode some, if in the water a long period of time.

yeah the small one with the stones was marked 9k i"v found a few old 9k rings that were corroded but not this bad it must have been there for ages. the spot i"m hunting at the moment is real hard on metals most of the coins are stuffed.
