Had a request to look for a ring.

I was approached by a workmate a few days back, to look for some jewellery. He said that a number of folks from the touch footy club had lost some jewellery on a certain oval, with a men's wedding ring in particular being identified to me as being lost. The part of the oval that he was talking about has 3 fields on it, so to help narrow it down, I asked him for more information as to where on the oval, he lost it. The reply came back that he could have lost while either playing, or on the sidelines somewhere. i thanks him for the accuracy of the information:rage: Yeah thanks heaps:thumbdown: and decided to hunt anyway.
I pulled out the Explorer on the Friday after work and managed to hunt for about 45 Min's, it would have been longer, but met a friend on the oval and talked for heaps. I found the necklace near the end of the hunt. It is silver and my favourite jewellery find to date.
Yesterday, I pulled out the GTI to continue the hunt and found the itinerant ring half an inch below the surface. It came in as a 6 and weighs 5 grams (0.2oz) I can't make out the writing well enough to tell what it's composition is though. Very nice to find.
As the ring was specifically identified, it will be handed over promptly. As for the necklace, I think that I'll ask for a specific description before I let it go. Hopefully, that will eliminate opportunists from making off with something that doesn't belong to them.

It"s always nice to help someone out & you can still add that one to the gold found tally even though you had to give it back + it makes our hobby look heaps better & once the word gets out you look for lost items you might be able to pick up a few extra $$$ helping people find lost things. Yeah you"ve got to look out for opportunists i"v had a few over the years one was a friend of the wife's !!!!!!
it"s funny how some people go crazy when gold & silver is found.

It is a good feeling to find a lost treasure for someone. Here is a guy wearing the gold band I had just found for him at the beach.
