Had an Indian head kinda day..

Jim C (Mich)

Well-known member
..went to a old school site that I had never been to before this morning. Had great success with finding Indian heads and 5 of the 6 I found are in real nice condition.
The 1868 is a good date to find. I thought it was a 1908 until I came home and looked at it better. Its hard to see the date on it when you look at it straight on.
Thought I was gonna get some older silver there but it was not to be. Ya take what ya get. Jim

Nice to see a good grouping of finds at last. As you say any day with Indians and a Mercury is a good day and the 68 looks to be in great shape. WTG

I wish mine came out looking like yours did, the soil must be non - acidic where you are. I get a good one now and then, but most of them are in rough shape, although I can see the date most of the time. Ron

You can't complain about finds like that and you did manage to find at least 1 Merc. Love the 1868 and sure looks to be in great shape for how old it is. The 1898 and 1899 are in awesome condition with full triangles on ribbon. You know those were dropped during those years for sure. Great finds and Good Luck and HH on your next outing!
