:clapping:Here's something I thought was gold when I unearthed it, but it's just plated.I had to work to get
this from the roots.
I opened it up and believe there used to be a picture inside. unfortunately being in the ground
so long ruined it.

About an hour or two before dark, got another quarter. I had found 3 Standing Liberty quarters in years past
and not one with a date remaining. But this one is a clear 1927

Just before I left I got another quarter hit... another SL quarter.
Date worn... but does have an S mintmark

Watching General Ray's videos got me thinking that I should add an updated photo
so you all know what I look like. So here's a pic I took of myself wrapping up today's hunt:biggrin:

Oh, one more thing.... Elson, where were you?? I waited for you...I thought you wanted to come along:shrug:

I gotta say this was unbelievable fun to detect a virgin site. Research pays off now and then.

P.S. The lady that owns the land is about 90. I sat outside with her and talked for 45 minutes before I started detecting.
It was one of the best parts of the day... She's a sweetie:thumbup:
Have a good one,
Matt

p.s . It was gracious of you to spend time conversing with the elderly woman.

I often stop to talk with the elderly people who walk the beaches where I detect. They have many interesting stories to tell.
