Has anyone built the Hammerhead project and have any comments on its performance on small gold. Any info will help me decide on building it or not. Joe
 
Hi Joe,
I built the Hammerhead PI and found it to be one of the better kit type PI projects available. A lot of little changes have to be made if the machine is to be used to detect the smaller stuff since one has to get the delay down and that is a function of several things including coil design.
I personally built mine to use a DD coil since they do a better job at reducing the ground signal.
