hand held pin pointers

I was hoping and wondering where I could find a simple schematic(s) for hand held pin pointers with a parts list, some thing small & simple so I can put in a pouch while metal detecting with my whites.Hope you can help me out, Much thanks in advance.
P.S very nice board you have going here!

You might try buying one (White's has an inexpensive unit), opening it up, and tracing out the schematic.
Some electronic hobbyist/surplus catalog outfits (Jameco, All Electronics, probably a few others, maybe even Radio Shack) have inexpensive hobby kits. The lineup usually includes an eddy-current dampened oscillator type metal detector that uses a small ferrite loopstick for a "searchcoil". You could repackage it as a pinpointer. Most inexpensive pinpoint probes work on that principle. If you're into electronics, you could probably fool around with the design a bit and improve it.
