This will be my final post and I do want to leave each of you with a wish for a Happy Thanksgiving. I greatly appreciate the sharing of information, experiences, and photos of finds.
Good luck in your quest for those gold and silver coins and the next great detector from Minelab.

God Bless all of my friends here on the forums!
Take care!

Have a great Christmas Cody.
Some how Christmas always brings to mind those people I have forgotten about... and also make me thankful how fortunate we are.
I echo DOC's words... God Bless!!

Cody,
Thanks for all your "techi" posts. I'm new to the Explorer. I'm getting it for Christmas. Over the past several months I've read your posts and printed out the lenghty ones. No, I have not been bored to tears as you suggested in one of your longer posts. I like the debates that come up because of the posts. The information and point of views from several different experiences is very helpful. We all can read the threads we want and skip the rest. Thats the idea of a forum(I think) I hope to post some nice finds and stories related to my EXll pretty soon. I'm hoping to hit the beaches of New England this winter. Happy Thanksgiving to all and thanks for the great posts.

And a Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
BTW I haven't been following the forum as much or as closely as I used to due to a hectic time at the moment but what does "This 2ill be my final post ..." mean? There are so many possibilities that I wouldn't even want to speculate.
At any rate I hope your insightful and wonderfully technical comments and posts about metal detecting and detectors will continue somewhere on the internet as I've enjoyed them very much over the past many months.
Thanks and good luck!!!

Cody,
I think I understand where you are coming from (excuse the dangling preposition). It does seem as though the forum is developing a somewhat hostile atmosphere. I have appreciated your comments and would desire to hear from you, via email, from time to time if you wish.
I am still such a neophite in relation to the use of the ExplorerII. I do not post much to the forum because I do not have much to offer. But, I search the forum trying to learn as much as I can from anyone that I can. There are many good ideas and some that are not so good. I think the best thing to do is to try an idea for yourself and see if it improves your finds.
I happen to be much like you in that if I can understand the theory of how things work, then I am much effective in its application. But, I also understand that that is a personal thing and may be of little interest to most. I believe that we should look at the forum to pick out those posts that are of interest and skip over those that are of no interest. If someone makes an erroreous statement, then they should welcome criticism that is extended without harshness or malice.
I want to wish you and you family a happy holiday season.
Regards,
Glenn
