Has anybody noticed the bar graph increasing over targets?

I was playing around with the Omega today (sent it back the the detector Dr for a possible body transplant :stretcher:) and while going over targets, I noticed that on silver coins the FE bar graph lit up 3 bars. It would go over 2 on modern coins. I also noticed that it sometimes goes to 3 bars on screw caps, yet on our gold coins:ausflag: it would only lit up a max of 2 bars. Has anybody noticed it?

On clad quarters it usually lites up two bars, on clad dimes, usually one bar.. I went to an older park the other day, On the ID meter it locked on a dime and quarter in 2 different instances. I figured I had coins, the iron graph did not lite up at all. I end up digging 2 totally rusty iron bottlecaps Like I said, Im still trying to figure it out!

because when you balance to the ground, the concept is to render the ground "neutral" and then as a result, any target will be "positive" compared to the ground. That's why the GB error gauge will go positive over a target.

Do you know, thats a quick and clear way of looking at it.
I for one understand that more clearly. Thanks.

Good point!
I was thinking about the Ferrous numbers of the Explorer series after I posted this. Looks like it will be fun to play around with when I get the Omega back.

Hey Mick

Did ya get your machine back yet? If so, what have you discovered with the Fe stuff?

Hey Bubba.
Yeah. Got it back a week ago. I've only had time for one hunt with it as yet and it's going really well.
I haven't really noticed anything more that above as I'm just getting to know the detector. Got informed today that there is not enough work on for Friday, so I'll be able to get out for a hunt then. Monday is a public holiday too so it's going to be a 4 day week end!:hot:

MICK! Knock em dead! Good for you and the 4 day holiday!
