The stock coil will be very difficult to find nuggets with in the high mineralization of most gold bearing areas. I've used the stock coil 1 time for nuggetshooting, it was very frustrating as the concentric coil was hitting hard on the massive amounts of black sand everywhere. I got a 5.75" DD coil and that thing rocks! No nuggets yet, but I do find tiny lead shot less than 1 grain! If you find lead shot in gold bearing areas, you would most likely find gold if you swing it over some. I would not recommend using any concentric coil for gold nuggets (at least on a VLF machine). Like Atomicscott said, concentric coils don't work too well in highly mineralized soil. You need one of our widescans to get through the dirt where you'll find gold nuggets.!
