has anyone taking the xp deus in the water

Waterdog, I am going to give it a try in the morning in some knee deep salt water.
I dont know how deep the water can get before it kills the radio signal from the submerged coil to the headphones
but that is one of the things I want to find out.
Another is just how quiet and deep it can penetrate the saturated salt water sand and what frequency works best.

The Deus is not intended to replace my saltwater detector but so far in the dry sand it has performed extremely well.

The Deus needs an external antenna to receive the signal from the coil when it is used in the water.
Google Deus water antenna.
It loses it's signal in a few inches of water.
I look forward to anything you find out about hunting in salt water.
In fresh water the Deus works well with the antenna.

i do all the time
i have the water kit & it works great

i hunt fresh water
heres a video:detecting:

deus water hunt

It works good. Just a little more set up time than a waterproof detector. You can lose signal if your antenna slips down. The antenna needs to be real close in order for it to work.
