Has anyone tried a Europro at a salt water beach?

I don't think it would do very well on the wet sand but was wondering how it would work in the dry sand.

Thanks, El

Most VLF detectors will work on dry sand but as soon as you go over onto the wet stuff then very few machines will work, mostly multi freq machines are the best ones that will work, you may get it to work of a fashion if you drop all the setting down but then of course you will loose depth so its a pointless exercise really.

If you plan on just doing the odd day a year while say on vacation then its pointless spending a fair amount on a decent beach machine,it all depends also on your budget, the best scenario is of course a dedicated Pulse machine for beaches and VLF machine for land, but of course that is in a ideal world.

I wont even attempt to take my T2 on the beach as it will struggle,i am lucky that i can either use my DFX or my Pulse machine, but as i live miles away from the coast its very rare that i get a chance to detect on the beaches, mainly my detecting is on plough and rolled or pasture land, also we are lucky to have alot of Roman,Celtic and Saxon history in my location.

Good luck with your Beach detecting and just give it a try.
