Has anyone used a BIG NEL Coil on a T2 ???

Mega

New member
Just bought myself to a BIG NEL coil all 17''x15'' of it for the T2,its not your every day coil and normally i would not have bought it but its brand new and only been used for a couple of hours, the price was the deciding factor as i bought it for half price.

The whole aim is using it on one specific site over here in the UK that i really think has something deep and worth the time involved and of course the cost as well, but the biggest problem is the time factor that i have on this site is maybe once or at best twice a year with a narrow 8 hour window on each day,so with a few constraints i decided to invest in what i see is the proper tool for the job.I do have a Pulse with large coils as well but with no discrimination and with a clock ticking against me,i cannot afford to dig deep holes and just finding iron.

Hence this is why i am going down the route of the extra depth and coverage with the added bonus of the discrimination as well.

Has anyone used the BIG NEL ?? if so how do you find it,i feel i have done a fair amount of homework on this site and looked at various ways on how best too tackle it and i feel i am going about it the right way.

Any comments or suggestions would be most welcome either good or bad its all about sharing detecting tips.

I am interested in hearing the results, also.

I doubt that the coil will be used more than a couple of times really,it was bought mainly for one specific site to gain me the not only the extra depth but cover the ground quickly as well, due to it size it would only be best used on a site that is pretty clean as you would usually have problems of picking up multi targets at the same time which can cause problems.

Usually large coils like this BIG NEL one is only good on largish targets but its reasonably good on picking up single coins as well, was most suprised about that one though. As i mentioned its far from being your every day coil, its a type of coil that would be very good for looking for your CW relic that would be deep.

You certainly do need a harness when using a coil of this size for long durations of time, have had a update and i doubt that we will get back on the site again till the crops come off,i wont make any depth claims on the coil/detector combination but its fair too assume its deeper than your stock coil :)
